As parents, I think we all can agree that we are always looking for the safest + best products to use when raising our children.

Your child’s dishware is a big one parents are often considered about because the products we use to feed our children have direct daily contact with them + are used to help them eat + drink.

Choosing a sippy cup for your toddler that is non-toxic + plastic-free is the best option for your child’s drinkware. But, how do you weed out the ones that are available on the market?

As a family nutritionist + mama myself, I have rounded up the 15 top non-toxic, non-plastic sippy cups for toddlers. Let’s dive in!

Why Should You Choose A Eco-Friendly Sippy Cup

So I’ve told you that a non-plastic, non-toxic sippy cup is the best option for your toddler if you are concerned with the feeding products you are using to feed your child, but why?

Children’s tableware – including traditional sippy cups – is often made from plastic, most of which can be of cheap quality + unstable which allows the harmful toxic chemicals in plastic to leak into your child’s food + drink.

BPA and phthalates are well-known chemicals you may have heard some parents discuss. Many products are now being manufactured in a way that avoids these two compounds + will often be labeled “BPA-free” and/or “phthalate-free.”

How To Pick the Best Non-Toxic Sippy Cups

So how can you go about picking up the best non-plastic sippy cup for your toddler?

Some of the best options to look for are sippy cups made from:

  • Silicone
  • Stainless steel
  • Glass
  • Bamboo

Also, look for these phrases on the packaging:

  • BPA-free plastic
  • PVC-free
  • Phthalate-free
  • Non-plastic or plastic-free

Finding a good 100% plastic-free sippy cup can be challenging at times. Your main focus should be to make sure at least the base – where the liquid sits – is free from plastic because this is where the chemicals could leak into the drink.

The lids, handles, or other parts of the sippy cup that never or only occasionally come into contact with the liquid are not of as great of a concern.

Some cups may be made from polypropylene which is a very stable type of plastic that is least likely known to leak chemicals.

So, you may see some of the sippy cups I have listed are made with this plastic because I think they are also a better choice than sippy cups made from different plastics.

Best Non-Plastic Sippy Cups – Silicone

Silicone is a great option to look at when choosing the best sippy cups for your toddler because they are durable + easy to clean. If you have a rough + tough toddler, I’d highly recommend purchasing one of my following favorites:

#1: GoSili 8oz Stackable Silicone Toddler Drinking Cup

GoSili has a line of silicone cups + lids that I love because they are all compatible with each other. You can purchase these silicone drinking cups + whatever lid option works best for your little one – straw or 360 lids.

They also sell a stretchy silicone lid that you can fit over the top of most cups!

What I Love About Them:

  • Made with 100% European-grade silicone
  • Non-toxic + eco-friendly
  • Stainless-steel ring around the rim that prevents the cup from collapsing
  • Compatible with all GoSili lids
  • Easy to clean
  • Dishwasher + microwave safe

Things to Consider:

  • Some moms report the stretchy lids to rip over time
  • The stretchy lid can be hard to place on the cup
  • The straw doesn’t have a lip to keep it in your child’s cup
  • I would recommend the 360 lid or open cup if you chose this option

#2: Bakerpan Silicone Toddler Spill-Proof Sippy Cup

These silicone cups from Bakerpan are perfect for babies or younger toddlers. The size (8oz.) + handles make it super easy for your little one to hold + manage. This cup can grow with your baby because the cup can be used with or without the cover.

  • Relatively spill-proof, but does leak a bit if left upsidedown

#3: Green Sprouts Silicone Learning Cup

If you are looking for a learning cup – a regular cup to teach your baby to drink from an open cup – then this is the best silicone option! The cup includes two easy-to-grip handles so your toddler can hold the cup steady while drinking.

This cup is made for toddlers 12 months and older + holds up to 7oz.

What I Love About Them:

  • Not the best for younger babies

Best Non-Plastic Sippy Cups – Stainless Steel

Another option for a non-plastic sippy cup is a stainless steel cup. I love using stainless steel options because it is often insulated keeping your child’s drink cold or warm!

Most of these cups will include silicone or plastic accessories – like lids, handles, or grips. The main cup or body of all the stainless steel cups on my list are made from stainless steel and therefore, plastic-free.

Best Non-Plastic Sippy Cups – Glass

Glass is a great option when looking for a non-toxic, non-plastic sippy cup. I definitely wouldn’t recommend glass if your toddler is prone to throwing or being rough with their cups. The glass is often durable + includes a rubber buffer to break falls, but I would still keep these for an older toddler.

#11: Green Sprouts Sip + Straw Cup made from Glass

Green Sprouts makes a great glass sippy cup with a silicone lid. The thing that makes these stand out from the rest is the silicone safety shield that blocks glass from entering the drinking spout in case of breakage.

#12: Lifefactory Glass Baby Bottles with Sippy Caps

Lifefactory makes glass + stainless steel baby bottles, but they have a sippy cap attachment that can be used in place of the nipple on the 4 or 9-ounce baby bottle. This can be a good option for transitioning your little from a bottle nipple to a hard spout transition sippy.

Lifefactory also has a 12oz glass tumbler that you can purchase for older toddlers and kiddos. They can just be a bit heavy, so for older babies + younger toddlers, I’d recommend the glass baby bottle with a sippy cap attachment.

What I Love About Them:

  • Grows with your baby
  • Silicone sleeve to help your little grip + protect the glass bottle
